A delightful, blue and white, 19thC antique porcelain lidded jar in vivid blue and white whilst featuring the Qianlong 4 character reign mark to the base. Traditional blue and white, hand painted themes and motifs featuring open prunus flowers around the outer sections to frame 4 central cartouche of traditional Chinese symbols, of most exquisite colour proportion and form, revealing outstanding brushwork skill.
Offered in what appears excellent condition with all parts intact but having suffered damage, the lid is cracked and crudely glued together and the body has had a section around one of the cartouche glued back, again a little crude but this is complete and a magnificent piece which could afford investment to be professionally improved but not to detract from a beautiful jar, it is priced to reflect this. Original evidence of kiln dust to body and base.Width of body at widest point - 20cm.
